The radar has two halves: a loader on the gaming PC reads the state of the server, and the map opens in a browser — on a second monitor, a tablet or a phone. The map itself comes from your own client, so one of the steps is done inside the game.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11
- Rust from Steam
- A USB drive — the loader runs from it only
- Any browser on a PC, tablet or phone — the map opens there
- Faceit and Vanguard uninstalled, third-party antivirus removed, Windows Defender off
System requirements
Preparation
Remove third-party antivirus and anti-cheats Kaspersky, Avast, ESET and the like, plus FaceIT and Riot Vanguard, conflict with the loader. They must be uninstalled, not just paused.
-
Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (or Control Panel → Programs and Features).
-
Uninstall any third-party antivirus (Kaspersky, Avast, AVG, ESET, 360, Malwarebytes, etc.). Pausing or disabling is not enough — the antivirus driver stays resident.
-
Uninstall the FaceIT AC and Riot Vanguard anti-cheats if present — they block third-party software at the kernel level.
- FaceIT is the CS2 anti-cheat, Vanguard is the Valorant one. If you don't play those games, they are safe to remove.
After removing an antivirus, restart the PC — some of its services only unload after a reboot.
Fully disable Windows Defender The #1 cause of "it won't launch". Disable it for real: manually first, then remove it from startup, reboot, and finish it off with Defender Control.
-
Step 1. Turn protection off by hand. Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings and switch every toggle off:
- Real-time protection — Off.
- Cloud-delivered protection — Off.
- Automatic sample submission — Off.
- Tamper Protection — Off. Turn this one off first, otherwise the others switch themselves back on.
-
Step 2. Disable reputation-based protection. In Windows Security → App & browser control → Reputation-based protection → Settings, turn everything off (SmartScreen, potentially-unwanted-app blocking).
-
Step 3. Remove Defender from startup. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) → Startup apps tab, find Windows Security notification icon and click Disable.
-
Step 4. Restart your computer. This is mandatory — some Defender services only unload after a reboot.
-
Step 5. Finish with Defender Control. Download Defender Control (archive password: r1xon), run it as administrator and click Disable Windows Defender — the tile turns red.
- If your antivirus deletes the utility itself, protection is still active — go back to step 1. The file ships zipped on purpose so Defender can't wipe it before it's disabled.
Don't skip steps 3–4. "I turned the toggles off but it didn't help" almost always means Defender came back after restart because it was left in startup.
-
Turn the protection off before downloading the loader — otherwise the file is deleted by heuristics while still in Downloads
-
Download the loader and move it onto a USB drive
-
Delete every copy of the loader from the PC — Downloads, Desktop, the unpacked archive — and empty the Recycle Bin. A leftover copy is what causes the Bad HWID error
Launch
-
Run the loader from the USB drive as administrator
-
Enter the activation key — it arrives right after payment
-
Wait for the injected message: the loader then closes by itself. Do not start a second copy on top of the running one
-
Unplug the drive and open the radar address — the loader shows it
-
Launch Rust and join a server
-
Open the console with F1 and run `world.rendermap` — the client renders the server map and uploads it to the radar
-
Wait a few seconds for the map to appear in the browser and press FOLLOW — the camera will follow you
-
To watch the map from a phone, open the same address there. Settings travel across: Settings → Publish my config, then enter the 10-digit ID on the second device
Problems & fixes
The loader does not start or closes immediately
The loader must be run as administrator. If that does not help, disable Windows Defender completely, uninstall any third-party antivirus and the Faceit AC and Riot Vanguard anti-cheats. Make sure Visual C++ 2015-2022, .NET Framework 4.8 and DirectX are installed.
After entering the key the loader asks to synchronise time
Open Settings → Time and language and press "Sync now". The loader checks the time against the license server, and a few minutes of drift is already enough to break it.
A Connection error appears after entering the key
The license server is unreachable from your network. Run the loader with a VPN on — that is enough; the VPN does not affect the game itself.
A No VMX, TPM, Legacy BIOS or Secure Boot error
The loader checks the BIOS. Enable virtualization (VT-x on Intel, SVM on AMD), turn TPM and Secure Boot off and switch the BIOS to UEFI mode.
A Bad HWID error
A copy of the loader is still on the PC — it may only run from the flash drive. Delete the file from Downloads, from the desktop and the unpacked archive, then empty the Recycle Bin. If there are no copies left, the key is bound to different hardware — support resets that.
The menu does not open on Insert
This radar has no in-game menu — and no hotkey either. Everything is controlled on the radar website: the Player, World, Settings and Player List tabs in the right-hand panel. If the panel is hidden, expand it with the arrow at the right edge.
The map is empty or shows the wrong terrain
The radar takes the map from your client. Join the server, open the console with F1, run `world.rendermap` and wait for the upload. If that does not help — Settings → RESET MAP and `world.rendermap` again. After a wipe and on every server change the command has to be run anew.
The «injected» message never appears
Disable the Windows vulnerable driver blocklist: regedit → `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CI\Config`, set VulnerableDriverBlocklistEnable to 0 (DWORD). Reboot and run the loader from the drive again.
Players jump around and the radar lags behind
Check your connection and VPN, close spare tabs and refresh the page with F5. On a phone stay on Wi-Fi rather than mobile data.
The settings are empty on another device
The profile lives in the browser, so every device has its own. Publish the configuration on the first one — Settings → Publish my config — and load it by the 10-digit ID on the second.
FAQ
What shows up on my game screen?
Nothing. The radar draws nothing over the game and has no in-client menu — the map lives in a separate browser tab, so it does not show up in a stream capture either.
Why is a USB drive needed?
The developer requires it: the loader runs from the drive only, and copies are deleted from the PC. A copy left on disk is what causes the Bad HWID error.
Do I have to run the map command every time?
Only when you change servers and after a wipe: every server has its own map. On the same server it stays loaded.
Can I watch the map from a phone?
Yes, that is a first-class scenario: open the radar address in a mobile browser and use ROTATE to fit the map to a portrait screen. No separate app is needed.
Do I need a spoofer?
It is not included. A spoofer is bought separately by those who already caught a hardware ban — for Rust that means a spoofer for Easy Anti-Cheat.
Still stuck?
Run R1XON Checker first — it pinpoints most launch problems in 30 seconds. If it still fails, attach the checker report to your support ticket and we’ll sort it out fast.
