Glass (Makcu) setup for Rust

Game guidesRust Updated4 September 2026
Working Medium setup difficulty

Glass never touches Rust: it looks at the screen and sends mouse commands from the outside. That makes the setup different from a usual loader — besides the app you need the system runtimes, and for maximum safety a MAKCU controller and a second PC.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11
  • An NVIDIA RTX card for CUDA inference — other cards fall back to DirectML, which is slower
  • Visual C++ Redistributable, WebView2 Runtime, DirectX Runtime, .NET Framework 4.8
  • For maximum safety — a MAKCU controller and a second computer
  • For the two-PC setup — Sunshine and Moonlight, or a capture card

System requirements

OS Windows 10 - 11 [except 26H2]
Processor Intel / AMD
GPU NVIDIA RTX (CUDA) / AMD
Game mode Any
Launchers Steam
Built-in spoofer No

Preparation

Remove third-party antivirus and anti-cheats Kaspersky, Avast, ESET and the like, plus FaceIT and Riot Vanguard, conflict with the loader. They must be uninstalled, not just paused.
  1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (or Control Panel → Programs and Features).

  2. Uninstall any third-party antivirus (Kaspersky, Avast, AVG, ESET, 360, Malwarebytes, etc.). Pausing or disabling is not enough — the antivirus driver stays resident.

  3. Uninstall the FaceIT AC and Riot Vanguard anti-cheats if present — they block third-party software at the kernel level.

    • FaceIT is the CS2 anti-cheat, Vanguard is the Valorant one. If you don't play those games, they are safe to remove.

After removing an antivirus, restart the PC — some of its services only unload after a reboot.

Fully disable Windows Defender The #1 cause of "it won't launch". Disable it for real: manually first, then remove it from startup, reboot, and finish it off with Defender Control.
  1. Step 1. Turn protection off by hand. Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings and switch every toggle off:

    • Real-time protection — Off.
    • Cloud-delivered protection — Off.
    • Automatic sample submission — Off.
    • Tamper Protection — Off. Turn this one off first, otherwise the others switch themselves back on.
  2. Step 2. Disable reputation-based protection. In Windows Security → App & browser control → Reputation-based protection → Settings, turn everything off (SmartScreen, potentially-unwanted-app blocking).

  3. Step 3. Remove Defender from startup. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) → Startup apps tab, find Windows Security notification icon and click Disable.

  4. Step 4. Restart your computer. This is mandatory — some Defender services only unload after a reboot.

  5. Step 5. Finish with Defender Control. Download Defender Control (archive password: r1xon), run it as administrator and click Disable Windows Defender — the tile turns red.

    • If your antivirus deletes the utility itself, protection is still active — go back to step 1. The file ships zipped on purpose so Defender can't wipe it before it's disabled.

Don't skip steps 3–4. "I turned the toggles off but it didn't help" almost always means Defender came back after restart because it was left in startup.

Update Visual C++ and DirectX Up-to-date runtimes keep the loader and overlay from crashing at start.
  1. Install Visual C++ Redistributable x64 and restart the PC.

  2. Update DirectX if you haven't in a while.

  1. Install all four runtimes from the requirements — the app will not start without them

  2. Turn off Windows real-time protection and Tamper Protection

  3. Decide how you will play — on one PC or on two — the rest of the setup follows from that

  4. For two PCs: install Sunshine on the gaming machine and Moonlight on the other, and check the picture arrives

  5. Plug in the MAKCU controller if you have one and note its COM port

Launch

  1. Download the loader — direct link, then run Loader Glass.exe and activate your key.

  2. Wait until the header shows the Ready status.

  3. Open the Makcu & 2PC tab. With the controller plugged in the port is detected automatically and Hardware Status shows its name. Without it you will see Win32 Software Mouse (SendInput) — that mode works too.

  4. For the two-PC setup switch on Enable Dual-PC Mode and pick the video source — DXGI Desktop Capture.

  5. Start Rust and load in. On the Aim Assist tab switch on Enable Aim Assist — the aim key defaults to the right mouse button.

  6. On the Recoil (RCS) tab pick your weapon, scope and barrel — otherwise the compensation works off the wrong spray.

Problems & fixes

The app does not start and says nothing

Almost always a missing runtime. Install all four — Visual C++ Redistributable, WebView2 Runtime, DirectX Runtime and .NET Framework 4.8 — and reboot. The Glass menu is built on WebView2, so without it the window simply will not open.

Hardware Status says Win32 Software Mouse although the controller is plugged in

The port was not detected. Open Makcu & 2PC and pick the COM port by hand instead of Auto Detect — the number is visible in Windows Device Manager. A different USB socket helps too, preferably straight into the motherboard rather than through a hub.

The aim misses or jitters

Raise Smooth Factor and Min Confidence: too low a confidence threshold makes the net grab at random patches. Check the Frame Rate Cap on the Perf & Sec tab too — if detection runs slower than the game draws, the aim lags behind the target.

The recoil is not fully cancelled

Compensation is computed for a specific spray: on the Recoil (RCS) tab pick the weapon, scope and barrel you actually hold. After that tune Vertical Strength — mouse sensitivity differs from player to player, and no single value fits everyone.

Is a second computer mandatory

No, Glass works on a single machine. But the two-PC setup is the one that gives maximum safety: nothing at all stays on the gaming machine — no app, no neural net, no capture — and all the game receives is mouse movement from a USB controller.

Advanced setup — only if it still won’t launch

Update Visual C++ and DirectX Up-to-date runtimes keep the loader and overlay from crashing at start.
  1. Install Visual C++ Redistributable x64 and restart the PC.

  2. Update DirectX if you haven't in a while.

FAQ

Where do I get the key after payment?

The key arrives instantly after payment — it appears on the order page and lands in your email, and with Telegram linked it is duplicated in our bot. This guide opens from there as well.

What is MAKCU and is it required?

It is a small USB controller through which Glass moves the mouse: to the system it is an ordinary input device rather than a program. Without it the software falls back to Win32 SendInput — that works too, but the controller together with the two-PC setup is what gives maximum safety. It is not included and is bought separately.

Is there ESP, or do I see enemies through walls?

No. Glass analyses the same picture you see, so it sees nothing behind a wall — just as you do. The product helps you aim faster and more precisely at an already visible target, not reveal hidden ones.

Does Glass work in other games?

The aiming is built on image recognition, so it is not tied to one game, and the recoil engine in the menu is marked for Rust and CS2. We sell and support it as a Rust product — for other games we make no promises.

Do I need a spoofer?

It is not included. A spoofer is only needed if the account or the hardware already caught a ban — it can be bought separately from our catalogue.

Still stuck?

Run R1XON Checker first — it pinpoints most launch problems in 30 seconds. If it still fails, attach the checker report to your support ticket and we’ll sort it out fast.
